About socialworkpracticematters – who are we?

Practice Matters is a collaborative venture between Joy Kelly and Penny Sturt, registered social workers committed to professional development, with a passion for maintaining good standards in social work and social care.  We have between us over 50 years experience of working in a variety of social work and social care settings both across adults and children’s services.

In this blog we write about issues that we have noticed affecting practice across adults’ and children’s social work. It is important to us that we operate using the ethical framework that underpins good social work/care practice and we will not use identifiable material on these blog posts.

We will publicise courses that Practice Matters is running on themes which may be of interest to other practitioners.

We are keen and new to using social media to share information with others that improves and develops better outcomes for people who may be using services.
